Default Testing Unid Weapons

Last night I got a max damage gold sephis axe (req 8) from a chest run. I am not sure if I should I identify and sell it or sell unidentified. I am wondering if I can go to practice island and test to see what mods it might have before identifying it. (ie-can I take some damage and see if it goes down with the axe on to see if it an armour mod or see if my e regen goes down to see if it is zealous) Do the mods on the unidentified weapon work? I will try this when I get home from work, but thought someone might be able to anwser me now.

thx

Yup, most people test, which is why I will never buy that Un-id'd req8 chaos axe for 30k.

Because I know its been tested, and it doesnt have that +30 mod or 15^50. The tester wouldnt sell for 30k if it had!

I've never bother with this stuff but assume it will do more damage with Wild Blow. Make sure you are not in a stance or enchanted to rule out those 2 mods. I suppose a weapon could be +15% always though, but you'd have the -10 armor or -5 energy factors.

Bah, too much work for me, I don't care about such things, I just ID them.

u cant test the difference between 14% and 15% it's techinicaly impossible since the dmg is exactly the same. u are able tho to determine if a weapon is 14-15^50 14-15always and the condition, 14-15stance, ench, etc etc.

if it's not ^ or always, ppl usualy sell it unidentified.
so that chaos axe unid 30k u can bet your mother that is ench, stance, <50, hexed hexed foes or without dmg mod.

Bring an uncustomized 15^50 Axe (like gotten from weaponsmiths or collectors).

Test its Wild Blow dmg.

now equip the Sephis Axe, wild blow, if its the same good job, if you really care WHICH dmg mod it is (always or -10attacking or something) then get below 50% health and wild blow again. If it went down..its ^50..

If the wild blow didnt do the same dmg..put a stance on and wild blow again..i thats no good, enchant yourself and wild blow again. If niether of them got the dmg, just sell UNID, none of the other dmg mods are worth anything.

Now does testing a weapon for its mods apply to an unidentified shield?

Tip. Be a W/N and use sac skills to get below 50% health to test for that.

I tested one weapon once, turned out to be +14^50. Higher req though.

If you test that weapon and it turns out bad, you can keep it to see how Nightfall affects prices. Low req weapons with good skins should go up in price if inscriptions work well.

I chestrun a lot. Test EVERYTHING, including caster items, to see if they have desirable mods. Sell the crap unid, got 10k for a 19%/Hexed Unid r8 Plat Bow, 10k for a 20 under 50 GPB, etc. Really not worth IDing otherwise.
